We have two opportunities to join our engineering team at our headquarters in Thornton Cleveleys. Our engineering team covers a wide range of disciplines and works across our different manufacturing facilities.
What will I be doing?
As an engineering apprentice you will spend your first year at a specialist training facility just outside Preston. Here you will learn basic engineering and craft skills, giving you a great foundation to progress. You will then join us on site, based within our training and engineering teams. For the next three years you go through more detailed formal training, as well as gaining practical engineering skills, across a wide range of areas, learning from our in-house experts. You will then specialise in a particular field of engineering, completing some additional formal qualifications in your chosen area.
What qualifications will I get?
You will be working towards Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician standards and formal NVQ and BTEC Level 3 qualifications.
https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/maintenance-and-operations-engineering-technician/. Many of our apprentices go on to do further qualifications, continuing to develop their careers with us.
What are we looking for?
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at 4 or above, to include Maths, English and Science or have progressed to A Level in similar subjects. You should have an aptitude and passion for engineering. We are looking for people who work well in a team, have attention to detail and are an innovative thinker.
What are the benefits of being a Victrex Apprentice?
With an apprenticeship you earn while you learn, undertaking a comprehensive training programme, gaining both formal qualifications as well as gaining a wide variety of work experience.
Victrex recruits only a select number of apprentices each year which enables us to provide individual, tailored, high-level support to you as you begin your career. We are committed to working closely with you to ensure that you can reach your full potential.
We offer you a full time, permanent contract, alongside a competitive rate of pay, generous company pension scheme, potential annual bonus with optional private health care and share save schemes. You also get 29 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays. We fund all tuition fees, so all your qualifications are debt free.
